WONDERFUL
1943 WALTHERS O GAUGE MODEL RAILROAD EQUIPMENT CATALOG!!!
#TY27657
$22.00
The black on this
catalog is a deep, rich black. However, when the scans showed the black
as that rich black, they would not show any of the wear to the catalog
which this washed out scan version shows so well.
THIS
IS A 104 PAGE, 1943 WALTHER'S O GAUGE MODEL
RAILROAD EQUIPMENT CATALOG INCLUDING PRICES!
IT
COVERS EVERYTHING IMAGINABLE FOR MODEL RAILROADS... WELL, MORE THAN I COULD
IMAGINE ANYWAY.
IT
STARTS OFF WITH A DISCUSSION OF THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TWO RAIL AND THREE
RAIL MODEL RAILROADING. NEXT IT DISCUSES POLYDRIVE LOCOMOTIVES AND
PROVIDES YOU WITH THEIR INVENTORY OF THE SAME. FROM THERE, IT GOES
INTO AVAILABLE LOCOMOTIVE PARTS AND THEN THE MANY TYPES OF
RAILROAD CARS - SWITCHER, INTERURBAN,, SUBURBAN, PASSENGER, MAIL, BAGGAGE
AND COACH, DINING, PULLMAN SLEEPERS AND OBSERVATION, STREAMLINE, OPEN VESTIBULE,
"LUXURY", FREIGHT, MERCHANDISE SERVICE, , BOX, , AUTOMOBILE, STOCK OR CATTLE,
REFRIGERATOR, HOPPER, GONDOLA, FLAT, AND CABIN. THE CATALOG
SHOWS THE INTERIOR LAYOUT OF MOST OF THESE CARS AS WELL AS THE EXTERIOR
APPEARANCE.
FROM
THIS CATALOG, YOU COULD ALSO ORDER AUTOMATIC COUPLERS, DECALS, TRANSFERS,
KITS, FINISHED MODELS, LOCOMOTIVE PARTS, OTHER CAR PARTS, TRACK EQUIPMENT,
POWER EQUIPMENT AND OPERATING SUPPLIES, TRACKS, WAYSIDE ACCESSORIES, BUILDINGS,
BUILDING SUPPLIES, SCENERY AND MORE.
THE
CATALOG MEASURES 5 5/8" WIDE X 9" HIGH. THE FRONT COVER DEPICTS AN
ENGINE EMERGING FROM A TUNNEL. THE BACK COVER SHOWS THE END OF THE
TRAIN GOING INTO THE TUNNEL.
LIKE
THE FRONT, THE BLACK ON THE BACK OF THE CATALOG IS DEEPER AND RICHER THAN
IN MY SCAN.
THE
TITLE PAGE TELLS US THIS IS 1943 CATALOG NO. 9, REVISED (FROM 1941 CATALOG),
ALL ITEMS ARE 0 GAUGE, 1/4 SCALE. THE PRICE OF THE CATALOG WAS 25
CENTS. IT ALSO SAYS IT IS THE PRODUCT OF WM. K. WALTHERS, INC., 241
EAST ERIE STREET, MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN.
THIS
IS A GREAT REFERENCE PIECE. IT IS INTERESTING TO SEE THE PRICES BACK
THEN. WOW!
CONDITION
The
condition of this book is fine. The spine and binding are secure.
The wear on the covers is there in the scans. The edges of the pages
are moderately soiled and have been bumped. There is some staining
(not bad - spots aren't too big or too dark) on a couple pages into the
front and the back of the inside of the catalog.
Otherwise,
outside of the light staining on a few pages and the bumps to the edges,
the inside pages are all in excellent condition. I do not see any
additional soiling, any writing or tears, and no dog-ears.
WHILE
THE DIFFICULTIES OF THIS CATALOG ARE UNFORTUNATE, THEY CERTAINLY DO NOT
NEGATE THE DESIRABILITY OF THE BOOK. DON'T MISS YOUR OPPORTUNITY
ON THIS ONE!!!
