1930'S
PAIR OF TALL ART DECO, ARTS & CRAFTS, GOTHIC BUTTERSCOTCH CATALIN BAKELITE
CANDLE STANDS, 42" high, (they look like they are not quite the same height
but every measurement comes out the same, I am perplexed about that), very
heavy, came out of the funeral home I live in, base and metal pieces that
hold the bakelite pieces together look like they are brass, but I will
not guarantee it (the I really think they are solid brass because they
are brass-color on the inside as well as the outside and the pieces are
very heavy), the top piece of bakelite on each stand is solid, the bottom
piece is hollow, the bases measure 17" high and 12" across, all the
pieces come apart except the top brass pieces and the top piece of bakelite
(they are probably supposed to come apart, but they do not do so easily
so I have not pushed it), these are very heavy candle stands, one
of the pieces of catalin has more brown in it than the others, excellent
condition with some light wear on the metal bases; the top balls of the
middle brass piece have lines all the way around them, I think these are
from the molds, but they might be wear; bakelite is shiny with only very
minor wear and no major scratches. PLEASE NOTE: I am not familiar
with shipping anything this heavy, anyone buying them from me will have
to be patient while I figure the shipping out. I expect them to weigh
over 100 lbs when boxed. OF COURSE, you can always come pick them
up in Sayre, PA, Tioga Center NY or Endicott, NY

PLATE
#4 1914 ETCHING AND PHOTOGRAVURE OF SAINT
PAUL'S CHURCH IN STOCKBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, ETCHING
OF FRONT ELEVATION AND FIRST FLOOR PLAN AND PHOTOGRAVURE OF FRONT FACADE
CAPTIONED "ST.
PAUL'S CHURCH - STOCKBRIDGE, MASS.", McKim, Mead & White - architects,
sepia tone, on light card stock, very good to fine condition with
the main body of the plate in excellent condition with a few stray marks
from the printing process, there is also a very light smudge to the right
of the floor plan, there is some yellowing around the edges, the
top right corner has a nick out of it and the bottom right corner has a
slightly larger (still small) nick. Both of the nicks are small enough
that they would be covered up by the lip of a frame. The other
two corners show slight wear. There are two tears in the bottom margin
- one comes 1/4" from the embossed edge and the other comes 5/8" from the
embossed edge.

1940's
(?, probably older) CHRIST IN THE GETHSEMANE SEPIA TONE PRINT,
on thick paper and it seem like it is printed like a photograph, published
by TABER PRANG ART CO., 9" x 11", fine to very good condition with
a pressure indentation (cannot see this in the scan, but it shows in real
life) on the upper left, some unevenness along the top edge from glue (looks
like it was once glued to something - probably a matte) but this is very
difficult to see and does not really detract, and some tiny creases along
the edges that are difficult to see and which would go under the
lip of a frame #PR2081 $10.00

VERY LARGE HAEGER
MATTE IVORY PORCELAIN MADONNA PLANTER (or you could call it a JARDINIERE),
harder-to-find version with no cuffs, marked "Haeger USA" in blue on the
bottom, about 14" high, 9" across and 10" deep, good condition, there is
a hairline crack in the front in the draping of her robe at the bottom
of the jardiniere which is not a glaring defect because it blends with
the draping (I failed to see it before I listed this item on my site);
there is a small and fine line on the back of her neck which I think it
is another hairline, but it does not go through to the other side of the
pottery and I cannot feel it with my nail so it could be just a scratch,
because it is in the back of the planter and it is soo fine, it really
does not detract from the looks of the piece at all; The 2 things that
detract the most (but still not a lot) are 2 under-the-glaze production
defects - one is a small dark spot above her breast; the other is
two small light spots (almost like a broken line) of very pale blue
on her temple (under the glaze); finally, there are a couple of other production
defects that are very small and very typical of Haeger pottery
