METAL
GREAT DANE FIGURE ON BRASS RULER / PENCIL OR PEN HOLDER, I would say turn-of-the-century
to the 1930's, dog is probably pot metal with bronze coloring, it looks
like they continued the bronze coloring to the top of the brass ruler (if
so, there is much wear on that bronze color - but it might just be that
the brass has developed it patina unevenly, the dog is attached to the
ruler with screws, there is a hole in the back of the dog's shoulder's
that looks like it intended for a pencil, my pencil is a bit wobbly in
there though, condition is good - most importantly HIS FAR EAR IS
GONE, there is light wear on the bronze coloring on the Dane, the ruler
is not perfectly flat still a great looking and unusual piece

FOUR ACES", in blue velveteen box that reads "Root's Express", good condition
with wear and soling on the box, the "pinched" set is complete with both
jokers, the "Bluff" set has 52 playing cards but only one joker;
the "Pinched" set looks like new and the "Bluff" set has wear on the edges

CHROMOLITHOGRAPH VICTORIAN PRINT OF WOMAN FEEDING A PARROT WHILE BULLMASTIFF,
MASTIFF OR GREAT DANE LOOKS ON; print is about 11" x 15", like many of
the oldest chromolithographs the image is a bit fuzzy, good condition with
a small hole on the top corners, another pin hole in the trees (cannot
really see this one at all), and dog ears on the corners

margin is pretty much gone -- there is not as much margin as in my photo,
it has been trimmed to about 1/16" next to the ad text and illustration
