EARLY
1800's HAND-COLORED ENGRAVING WITH SPANIEL DOG, my scan is not good (fuzzy)
because I scanned it in the frame, 17" x 14" not including the frame, I
think it is a French (but maybe Spanish or Italian) bookplate, above the
man on horseback it says "deriere de Tuilerie", individuals in the engraving
are identified (e.g. the man on the horse is "L'iluftre - Conte de Suiffons",
the guy on the far left is M. le C. de Fiat"), it is on paper
with high rag content, it seems to be drymounted on board, reverse of the
picture has framer's tag that reads "Catalada Fine Arts, Inc.", "Old Military
Engraving", frame is modern black wood in poor condition with no glass,
so you might not want the frame, engraving is in good condition with some
foxing, also some discoloration (got wet?)
in the top left corner and a very, very slight discoloration on the bottom
left corner (really difficult to see) SP30081
