GORGEOUS 1840's
- 1850's COLORED ENGRAVING "VIEW OF BALTIMORE" by British artist W. H.
BARTLETT (WILLIAM HENRY), engraved by S. Fisher, possibly a later printing
but I doubt it, 9" x 12 1/2", scene area is 7" x 4", sheet has been
cropped from its original size, presently it is in a presentation matte
but the matte has a tack hole through the top (not through the engraving)
and there is a nick out of the left edge, engraving is in excellent condition
with some age spotting on the large margins, looks much better than my
scan, all problems can easily be matted out for an elegant presentation

1878 unframed
CHROMOLITHOGRAPH OF LITTLE GIRL WITH BOOK AND UMBRELLA; bottom of
page reads, "copyright by Geo. Stinson & Co. 1878, Published by Geo.
Stinson & Co, Portland, Me."; (please note - Geo. Stinson and Co seemed
to be a rather prolific publisher - but I do not know anything further
about that company), this came from behind a Currier and Ives print
so I think it is as old as its copyright, 10" x 13 1/2", good to very good
condition, the print is very dark, I am not certain how much of that is
due to age or how much is original, the edges are only marginally lighter
than the rest of the picture; the edges are quite rough from wear from
the nails holding the picture in the frame, there are nicks and tiny tears
on all edges; there are quite a few small scratches and then some longer
light scratches; there are a couple of spots around her hat where the color
has come off the paper; the paper is slightly wavy (much less than it looks
to be in the scan), I have done nothing to this print, I think it has the
potential to look much better if cleaned up a bit and put behind glass
#PR29199 $24.00....

EARLY 1800's
HAND-COLORED ENGRAVING WITH SPANIEL DOG, my scan is not good (fuzzy) because
I scanned it in the frame, 17" x 14" not including the frame, I think it
is a French (but maybe Spanish or Italian) bookplate, above the man on
horseback it says "deriere de Tuilerie", individuals in the engraving are
identified (e.g. the man on the horse is "L'iluftre - Conte de Suiffons",
the guy on the far left is M. le C. de Fiat"), it is on paper
with high rag content, it seems to be drymounted on board, reverse of the
picture has framer's tag that reads "Catalada Fine Arts, Inc.", "Old Military
Engraving", frame is modern black wood in poor condition with no glass,
so you might not want the frame, engraving is in good condition with some
foxing, also some discoloration (got wet?)
in the top left corner and a very, very slight discoloration on the bottom
left corner (really difficult to see) SP30081

you cannot see), the frame is in fine condition with some wear on the gold

long time ago #PR28350 $30.00

BEAUTIFUL
VICTORIAN WALNUT FRAME, from the end of the 1800's, 13 1/2" x 19"
framing area, 16 1/4" x 21 3/4" exterior measurement, frame
wood 1 3/4" wide by about 3/4" deep (click
here for photo of corner), This is actually an interior frame intended
to be nailed inside another larger frame, therefore the frame wood will
not rest on the wall (click here for photo
of side of frame), however, it still can be used as a frame by
itself, no glass included, excellent condition, no cracks or wear, the
gold interior piece has some dark spots from aging, but that is normal
in these victorian walnut frames. FR01 $45.00

LATE
1800's - EARLY 1900's (maybe as late as 1930's) RED BEADED PURSE, with
single black bead deliberately sewed into the purse on each side leading
me to believe it may be a native American trade piece, but I do not
know much about that area of knowledge, 5 1/2" wide, 8 " long, 9' long
including the fringe, red gabardine hand-sewn interior lining, cord pull
string, fine condition with 2 strands of the fringe missing and some minor
damage to the main part of the purse (I believe all the beads are there),
the cord seems to have faded since it is now almost brown
