J.
C. LEYENDECKER, gay illustrator, by Michael Schau, first edition,
ex library copy, 207 pp, 12 1/4" x 9 1/4", full of wonderful Leyendecker
works including many of the hot bodied males he loved to draw, about 1/2
in color and 1/2 in black and white, fine condition, it has a mylar cover
protecting the dust jacket so the dust jacket is in excellent condition,
the mylar cover has some wear though, the mylar has been taped to the inside
of the covers of the book and the library has been marked out on the inside
cover and on the top and bottom edges of the book, it has "discarded" next
to where the library name used to be, the spine has a library code, but
I think that will come off easily #CI25546
$145.00

SPUDS CIGARETTE AD WITH DEEP SEA DIVER AND "GAY MERMAID QUEEN", limerick
contest,
"A grizzled old
diver named Lee
When lifted up
out of the sea
Said, "A Gay
Mermaid Queen smoking Spuds I have seen ..."
this has lots
of potential to be very entertaining for guests when hung on a wall - lots
of double entendre to play with, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THE MERMAID LOOKS LIKE
A MERMAN, 10 1/4" X 13 1/2", fine condition with some light wear
on the top and right edges which can easily be framed or cropped out, there
is some smudging of the ink in the printing process or some soiling in
a few places - specifically through a little bit of the text of the first
2 paragraphs of the left column - it looks much worse in the scan than
it does in reality, it really does not detract much #SP26117
$35.00

"Why They Call
Broadway the 'GAY' White Way" (article on "deviate stranglehold on the

this was a mainstream magazine), TIP-OFF, APRIL 1956, gossip magazine;

and Churchill on the cover; also articles on Ed Sullivan , Gypsy
Rose Lee, Diana Dors, Barbara Hutton and Von Cramm, Margaret O'Brien, Ingrid

Racketeers in baseball; 8" x 10 1/2", 74 pp, complete, condition is good
with the front cover having a small amount of wear, the back cover has
moderate wear, the inside pages are excellent except for yellowing with
age, the spine looks like it was gnawed on for about 2 " on the bottom
