SCARCE KLUMPE BLACK MEMORABILIA GOLF CADDY DOLL with original label and original tag.  I do not know his exact age, but I think he is from the 1950's.  If anyone knows more, please let me know.  This caddy doll is a great Black Memorabilia collectors' piece.  He is very much a stereotype with his exaggerated large lips, cigarette and slouching.  Not many of the collectible Klumpe dolls were Black Memorabilia pieces.  Klumpe dolls are stuffed felt over wire made in Spain.  The faces are some sort of hard composition with, I believe, handpainted features.  The eyes are applied glass or plastic.  His shirt looks to be cotton.  His pants and hat look to be wool.  I think everything else is felt or yarn.  He can stand on his own, but like all Klumpes -- it is not a sturdy stand.  He has his original Klumpe tag as well as original price tag.  He came from an estate of non-smokers and he was stored in a glass front library bookshelf (no attic or cellar smells for him).  He is 11" tall.  Based on other items in the estate, I think he might be a souvenir from Pinehurst in South Carolina, but I have no proof of it.

He is in very good to excellent condition.  He is not at all faded nor does he have any damage to the doll.  There is no fading or soiling.  I do not see any defects except for the woolie moth holes in his pants.  He has 4 of them total.  2 on the back of his pants as shown below, then one very tiny one next to his left pocket and another small one (smaller than either of the 2 shown) on the inside of the crotch of the pants.

SCARCE VINTAGE 1972 MATTEL RINGLING BROS. and BARNUM & BAILEY TOY CIRCUS WITH ORIGINAL BOX.
The playset consists of a vinyl carry case (measures 10" x 6 1/2" x 3" when closed).  It originally came with 10 circus acts.  I have parts of 9 acts but only 3 complete acts (the trained Gorilla and Monkeys act, the trained dogs and horse act and the clown act -- all the parts but none of the decals).  I have the parts of the wild animal  act, high wire act, trapeze act, high diver act, human canonball act, springboard act.

The playset is rare, but finding it in the box is even rarer.

These acts were give-aways at Shell gas stations.  There are far more of the acts available (mint in their original plastic), than the Mattel playsets.  I have seen the acts go for as little as $2.00 on Ebay.

The carry case unfolds to a 3 ring circus.  Set up, the circus measures 24" long  x 9 1/2" deep  x 12" high.

The bottom of the carry case reads, "0829",  "Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Combined Shows Inc.", "1972 Mattel, Inc."

The set comes with its original box.  The box has great graphics too.  It measures 13 1/2" x 10" x3".  There is a lot of extra space in the box now, but there would have been space needed for the acts when they were still on their plastic frames.  Among the many things the box says, it  has "No. 0506" on it.  I think you can probably read everything else fine.  If not, please feel free to ask.

The carry case is in excellent condition.  It  really is all in near mint condition except for that one area of discoloration on the grass of the inside of the set.  The color is bright.  There are a few very small spots of color misses on the carry case that were part of production.  The case is solid with strong tabs showing no wear.  It sets up easily and stays together.   The handle is strong and the clasp is strong.  There is no wear on the edges of the vinyl and no tears in the vinyl.

Of course, the playset is missing some of the pieces of the acts as mentioned above.  The pieces of the acts that are there are in excellent condition.

There is one area of discoloration on the inside of the case between the center ring and the right ring.  It is a streak of brown and then some yellow to the right of the brown streak.

The box shows some wear on the color on the top of the box.  Also one end has a tear where it closes but amazingly the closing tab still does its job.

SWEET CHALKWARE SANTA BANK, PROBABLY 1920'S OR 1930'S BUT HE COULD BE MUCH OLDER, 10" TALL, 6 1/2" WIDE AND 3 1/2" DEEP, HE IS HOLDING HIS SACK OF GOODIES IN ONE MITTENED HAND AND A HORN IN THE OTHER, HE IS INSIDE A GREEN CHIMNEY WHICH IS TOPPED WITH SNOW,  HE HAS THE REMNANTS OF SILVER GLITTER ON THE FUR OF HIS CAP AND ON HIS BELT BUCKLE (IT IS THE REALLY OLD TYPE OF SILVER GLITTER THAT TARNISHES WITH AGE LIKE SILVER DOES  - DID IT HAVE REAL SILVER IN IT?), condition is very good, with wear on his paint ( which, I think, lends Santa a charm),  a couple of what I think are hairline cracks (one on the side of his head and one on the chimney), but which might be layering in the chalk, they are so fine I doubt they go through the depth of the chalk, Also, there are some shallow chips - 3 on the horn and one on the bottom of the chimney.  That spot on Santa's cheek in the top photo, I believe, is a peeling of a single layer of the chalk    #X25402    $65.00
