1930'S
ART DECO REVERSE PAINTED SILHOUETTE DRESSER BOX, with colonial couple
dancing the minuet, and sundial in the background box could be used for
jewelry, stockings, gloves, candy, bible, etc. It measures 6 14"
X 8 1/4" X 2 1/8", it has one compartment, the condition is good with a
lot of crackling of the reverse paint - but there is barely any paint loss
- just a little in 3 of the corners outside the main part of the scene.
The flash in the photo makes the crazing of the paint exaggerated - actually
you can not really see it in most lights or angles. There is some
wear of the silver of the frame and the box. #DC25567

1950's REVERSE
PAINTED SILHOUETTE ADVERTISING PICTURE OF FISHING AND CAMPING, ad for Broadway
Sporting Goods in Elmira NY, in a metallic gold metal frame, 8"x 6", very
good condition with some wear on the gold paint of the frame, some crackling
of the black paint - particularly on the bottom right corner (it is not
immediately notice and does not detract much) and the original hanger on
the back of the picture has broken, a string has been rigged thorough the
cardboard of the back and it seems quite solid #PR28349

40's REVERSE PAINTED ART DECO SILHOUETTE PICTURE WITH FOIL, "WHISTLER'S
MOTHER", background is in cream, silhouette is black with silver
and pink foil showing through, frame is cream with antiquing highlights
on the art deco decoration, back has an NRA sticker with reference to the
frame molding (I don't know what that means), backing board has a stamp
"ABT PUB. Co.", 5" x 7", picture is in near mint condition but the frame
has considerable wear on the color #PCT27164
