1919
ESKIMO DOG FROM NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE, LABELED "NORTH GREENLAND
ESKIMO" BY COLLECTIBLE ILLUSTRATOR FUERTES. THE DOG'S MUZZLE IS BOXIER
THAN THE ESKIMO DOGS OF TODAY. I WOULD IMAGINE THE DIFFERENCES ARE
DUE TO CHANGES IN THE BREED THROUGH THE YEARS.
HE IS MATTED
AND FRAMED IN AN OLD WALNUT FRAME. THE FRAME USED TO BE VERY ELEGANT,
BUT SOMEONE WITH A PREFERENCE FOR A MORE PRIMITIVE LOOK HAS REFINISHED
IT (IT WASN'T ME). NOW THE FRAME LOOKS VERY NICE STILL, BUT IT HAS
A DIFFERENT CHARACTER. THE MATTE JOB WAS NOT PROFESSIONALLY DONE,
BUT IS QUITE NICE. THE AREA OF THE ILLUSTRATION THAT IS SHOWING MEASURES
5 1/4" X 7 1/2". THE INSIDE OF THE FRAME MEASURES 7 1/2" X
10 3/4". THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME IS 10" X 13", IT IS IN EXCELLENT
CONDITION #ESK1 $22.00 .HOLD
